Get ready to clean the plastic in your car

One of the most important things when it comes to cleaning the plastic in your car is not to scratch the surface or otherwise damage the plastic. Therefore, before cleaning, you should stock up on brushes with soft bristles, rags that absorb dirt and liquids, and towels. You also need to invest in an effective cleaner with the right characteristics. 

This way you will not damage the heads, remove dirt from them and emphasize the best visual characteristics. In addition, you will help extend the life of the material. Before you decide to clean the plastic in your car, prepare:

  • Vacuum cleaner;
  • Vacuum nozzle with soft brush;
  • microfiber towels;
  • Cotton swabs 
  • Toothbrush with soft bristles, can be used for teeth;
  • Dirt cleaner with the correct profile;
  • Specificity that protects the surface from dirt sticking.

Vacuum the interior of the car

At the very beginning, get rid of everything inside the car that can interfere with cleaning. Such items of equipment include, for example, floor mats, seat covers, documents lying in the cab, or trash in the side pockets. 

Start by vacuuming the car's interior, seats, headrests, underfoot, and any nooks and crannies where dirt and dust can be found. To make cleaning easier, use the soft brush attachment of the vacuum cleaner attachment. 

Thanks to this, during or after cleaning the plastic, the dirt inside the car will not make all your work in vain and soon the plastic will become dirty again. In addition, various contaminants, such as sand or food crumbs, when cleaning plastic in a car, can get into a rag and scratch its surface.

Removing dirt from plastic parts.

After vacuuming the interior of the car, take a microfiber towel and wipe the plastic parts inside the car with it. Thanks to this, you will get rid of all the dirt that the vacuum cleaner did not pick up. This treatment will also allow the cleaning solution you use later to work better.

You can keep wiping the towel until it no longer absorbs dirt. Then take pre-prepared cotton swabs and get rid of dirt from small nooks and crannies. You can also use soft-bristled brushes for this.

Also remember to remove any moisture left after cleaning with a microfiber cloth. There is an easy way to remove it with paper towels. Wipe dry the areas that were previously wiped.

Cleaning plastic in a car with a selected specificity

The first of the most commonly used is a universal spray for car interior parts. Cleaning plastic in a car should be done with a microfiber towel or a soft-bristled brush. It must be remembered that the agent must not be applied directly to the surface of the material, but with the help of the previously mentioned accessories. Thanks to this, the plastic will not break down.

Proper dosage is also important for other pieces of equipment inside the vehicle. Too much cleaning agent on the plastic surface may drip onto the electronic components or get into the air vents. When you're done using the product, wipe the plastic in the car again with a dry paper towel to get rid of the moisture.

Dirt in the car - how to effectively get rid of it?

Sometimes cleaning plastic in a car is not associated with regular car interior care, but with the need to remove dirt. This happens especially often in the autumn-winter period. How to effectively get rid of it?

It is better to wait until the dirt dries. Using the previously mentioned methods on wet mud can ruin the whole job. Wet dirt got inside and settled in hard-to-reach corners of the car. In addition, all rags and towels will be soiled, and dirt can be smeared all over the cabin.

Cleaning plastic in the car - finishing touches

When you are done removing the dirt from the car interior, treat the surface of the plastic parts with a plastic protectant. This will provide additional protection against contamination. 

The action of such specialists is to prevent the deposition of dust, grease and other types of contaminants on the surface of the plastic. In addition, they protect the plastic from damage to the structure by UV radiation. 

Aesthetic considerations should not be overlooked either. The products used to protect the plastic surface, after cleaning, give it a shine and make it almost new. Care specificity should be applied at one point, distributed over the material and left for 1-3 minutes. Then polish it all with a microfiber cloth.
