2020-2021 Chrysler recalled for being too loud! Holden Commodore and Ford Falcon rival could break Australian law over excessive noise levels

Later copies of the Chrysler 300 were found to be excessively noisy.

Chrysler Australia has recalled several Chrysler 300 large rear-wheel drive sedans due to possible excessive noise levels.

According to the Australian Government Vehicle Recall website, 206 2020-2021 300 Chryslers have "outside noise levels (which) may exceed Australian Design Regulation (ADR) 83/00 requirements."

The transmission control module (TCM) on these vehicles may have been programmed incorrectly, so owners have been asked to contact their preferred Chrysler dealer to resolve the potential issue.

At an authorized service center, the TCM software will be checked and, if necessary, updated. This work will be done free of charge for vehicle owners.

The Chrysler 300, and with it the Chrysler brand, was reportedly pulled out of Australia, the only remaining RHD market, last November. He continued the legacy of the homegrown Holden Commodore and Ford Falcon.

"The global push for electrification and a focus on SUVs has led to the consolidation of the entire product line in Australia," parent company Stellantis said in a statement.

For reference, the Chrysler 300 was available in three flavors: the 300C Luxury is powered by a 210kW/340Nm 3.6L naturally aspirated V6 petrol engine, while the 300 SRT Core and 300 SRT up the ante with a 350L 637kW/6.4Nm engine. V8.
