What happens if you charge the engine with gunpowder

This amazing video answers a question you never knew existed.

What happens if you fill the car with gunpowder instead of gasoline? Of course, this is not a question that would cross the mind of a sane driver, but our favorites at YouTube channel Warped Perception specialize in such ridiculous experiments, and we have to admit that they are doing well.

What happens if you charge the engine with gunpowder

To conduct the experiment, they use a single-cylinder engine from Briggs & Stratton, a renowned American manufacturer of motors for mowers and generators. To see what was going on in the combustion chamber, the head was replaced with a thick plate of clear acrylate.

Since gunpowder is highly flammable even without an influx of oxygen from the outside, technicians must come up with a very original way to safely deliver it to the combustion chamber. Once this is verified, it's time to experiment. As you will see in the video below, this does not last long: the engine explodes almost immediately, and the spark that leaps out of it ignites the powder in the feed pipe.

The acrylic head was completely destroyed, and the explosion killed all the bolts from the sockets. The most amazing thing is that after replacing the bolts and returning the original head, the vloggers start the engine again, and it works as if nothing had happened. Which can only make us regret that Briggs & Stratton hasn't been making cars for cars since the 20s.
