What does the motor do?

Each cordless drill has an electric motor inside.
What does the motor do?The electric current from the battery is transmitted to the motor through the speed control trigger.

The motor converts the battery's electric current into the mechanical energy needed to turn the bit.

POWER

What does the motor do?Motor power is measured in watts and is a combination of torque and speed.

Higher power motor can convert battery power into torque and speed more efficiently. This usually means that a higher power tool can generate more torque at higher speeds.

What does the motor do?Please note: Motor power is a relatively new way of measuring the power of cordless drill/drivers, so most manufacturers don't have this information.

If this information is provided, it is a good way to compare several different models. Generally, a 100W motor or higher will allow you to work harder materials and larger propellers at higher speeds.
