What to do if even new brushes do not clean the windshield of the car in winter

People learned how to make car wiper blades so long ago that the likelihood of uncleaned areas on the windows of cars is, in principle, practically zero - the technology should already be honed to such an extent. But no! Motorists regularly have to deal with such a problem on their own.

The most striking thing is that uncleaned areas often occur even on brand new cars that have just left the gates of a car dealership! So it’s not worth being surprised at the appearance of a similar problem on used cars, even with brand new wiper blades.

This is especially annoying in the snow. At some point, the driver realizes that the "wipers" work worse and worse, leaving uncleaned either an arcuate strip on the windshield, or a more local untouched area. During truly intense rainfall, motorists are not inclined to blame the “wipers” for insufficiently high-quality work: nature, they say, raged.

Meanwhile, this is more than a transparent hint that something is wrong with your “wipers”. A much more unpleasant stage of the same trouble with brushes is when they leave an uncleaned spot even without any snowfall. Moreover, as a rule, it manifests itself the stronger, the stronger the frost overboard.

The root of these troubles can be partly attributed to the use of a brush with a too "oak" rubber band. That is, in itself it is normal, but too sensitive to low temperatures - it sharply loses elasticity when cooled, even when it was just bought in a store.

However, more often the reason for the poor performance of even new “wipers” is elsewhere - in a weakened during operation, or initially insufficiently powerful spring that presses the wiper leash with the “wiper” to the stele. When the temperature is positive outside and the brushes deal only with rainwater, there are no complaints about the cleaner. But as soon as you have to clean the snow and remove the freezing dirty slurry from the "windshield", the weakness of the clamping spring affects the way described above.

The problem can be radically solved in the only way - by replacing the ill-fated elastic element with a similar, but greater rigidity. It is not necessary to look for exactly “native” springs, it is enough to install similar in size, but more powerful ones. Although this is not always easy to do. Especially in the case of a new warranty car. The "official" will not deal with such nonsense - it's good if they agree to replace the existing spring with exactly the same "native". Alas, even after that, in most cases, the “wipers” do not start to clean noticeably better.

The only way out is to secretly from the official service station turn to some garage "kulibin" or to an unofficial car service center that will agree to help in the selection and installation of new springs. But be prepared for the fact that the installation work will cost an order of magnitude more expensive than themselves.
