What to do if the car does not start due to low winter temperatures

Low winter temperatures affect many elements of the car. It is very important that you prepare your car for winter with special products and elements before winter sets in.

Low temperatures, blizzards, and whatever winter brings can cause various systems in your vehicle to malfunction. Cold can cause various problems in the car, so always.

When it's that cold outside, a lot of things can happen to your car, like a dead battery, a frozen door, or oil that's become too thick and doesn't flow properly.

Sometimes you can solve the problem quickly, but in many other cases it may take some time or special assistance to turn on the power.

That's why here we tell you what to do if your car won't start due to low temperatures in winter.

1.- Transmit power to your car

Most often, car batteries are discharged from the cold. So if you start with another car or with cardigan, Perhaps the car starts and the problem is solved.

After starting the car, let it run for at least 20 minutes after starting. This will allow the battery to be recharged and thus prevent the same problem from occurring later.

2.- Take the car to the mechanic

Taking your car to a mechanic is the best way to pinpoint exactly what the problem is and make the necessary repairs.

3.- Keep the switch on for 10 seconds.

In cold weather, engine oil thickens and does not flow. Moisture in the fuel lines can also freeze and cause blockage, which can cause the engine to not start.

Turn off all accessories, then place the keys in the switch, turn and hold the key for up to 10 seconds. If that doesn't work, wait a minute or so and repeat the process again.

4.- To work by taxi

If your car won't start and you have to drive to work or school, it's best to book a taxi and save time. It may take some time to start the car.

It's best to check and make the necessary adjustments to your car before winter sets in.

5.- Prepare

To avoid problems in the future, it is better not to leave the car on the street, and if it is not possible to park the vehicle in the garage, buy a thermal blanket. These blankets can be easily placed over the engine or under the hood of the car to keep the engine warm at night.
