What is the recipe for the perfect SUV? There are probably as many answers as there are fans of this type of construction - quite a lot. However, when we think about acquiring such a model, we begin to seriously ask ourselves this question and desperately look for an answer to it. So we will try to help you.
In the beginning it is necessary to define what makes SUVs very popular in recent years both in Poland and in the world. First of all, it is necessary to note the high design of these cars, thanks to which they are safer and provide good visibility on the road, because we look at most vehicles from above. An equally important factor is the comfort that SUVs undoubtedly offer - both in terms of the amount of space in the cabin, and in terms of the suspension, which effectively absorbs bumps. If you add to this off-road performance, a large number of multimedia solutions and attractive body design, you get a complete picture of a car that can claim to be ideal.
Safety first
When we choose a car for the whole family, we take special care to ensure that it is as safe as possible. SUVs offer a lot in this area, because thanks to the high-mounted chassis, they always emerge victorious from any bumps. This is confirmed by crash tests conducted a few years ago by the German UDV Institute. In the confrontation between a passenger car and an SUV, the second vehicle received much less damage. However, to further enhance safety, manufacturers are equipping vehicles with increased ground clearance with state-of-the-art driver assistance systems. In the Mercedes ML, in addition to the already common ESP system, we also find the brake assistant BAS, which, depending on the speed at which the brake pedal is pressed, determines whether we are dealing with sudden braking and increases the pressure if necessary. in system. Connected to it is the Adaptive Brake system, which, in the event of an emergency stop of the car, activates flashing brake lights that will warn drivers behind us. Also noteworthy is the Pre-Safe passenger protection system available in the Mercedes ML. – It is a combination of different systems. If the system detects a typical driving emergency, it can activate the seat belt pretensioners in a fraction of a second and adjust the electrically adjustable driver's seat to a more comfortable position in the event of an accident. If necessary, the system will also automatically close the side windows and the panoramic sliding sunroof,” explains Claudiusz Czerwinski from Mercedes-Benz Auto-Studio in Łódź.
However, if a collision cannot be avoided, the vehicle's engine will automatically shut down and the fuel supply will be cut off. In addition, the hazard warning lights and interior emergency lighting will turn on automatically to prevent accidents and make it easier to find the vehicle, and the door locks will automatically unlock.
Convenience comes first
SUVs are also characterized by large interior space for all passengers. Thanks to this, a family of four will comfortably get to any designated place and will not feel tired even after several hours of travel. In the already mentioned Mercedes ML you will find electrically adjustable seats with optional ventilation, which is an invaluable addition to any summer expedition, automatic Thermotronic air conditioning, and all this can be supplemented by a panoramic sliding sunroof. If this is not enough, various multimedia systems will come to the rescue, thanks to which both adults and children will definitely not be bored on the journey. An interesting option offered by the M-Class is the Comand Online system with Splitview option. On the large display of this system, the front passenger can watch movies in superb picture quality while the driver, for example, browses through navigation instructions. The Splitview feature makes this possible as it displays different content on the display depending on the location. What about second row passengers? – For them, the Mercedes ML also has something special. The Fond-Entertainment system includes a DVD player, two 20,3 cm monitors mounted on the front headrests, two pairs of wireless headphones and a remote control.
