Pusher gaps
The tappets must be a set width from the valve stem in the engine to prevent collisions.
Spark plug gaps
Spark plugs must be installed so that the spark can transfer energy from the ignition system to the combustion chamber.
Distribution points
Distribution points must be installed in such a way that they can transfer high voltage from the ignition system to the spark plugs in a specific firing order.
Bearing clearances
Bearings must have a certain amount of clearance between their housings in order for the crankshaft to rotate efficiently.
Piston ring gaps
Piston ring gaps must be adjusted so that the piston operates efficiently and there is no excess oil consumption or increased gas breakthrough.
