What you need to know about car wipers?
Car wipers should be changed at least twice a year due to wear and tear. First of all, because the graphite-coated rubber of the wiper wears out and hardens, which is why it crumbles during operation. In addition, the wipers are sensitive to temperature.
In winter, they are exposed to windshield washer fluid, which contains alcohol and destroys rubber. They also often freeze to the glass and when we tear them off, the rubber crumbles and chips off. In summer, on the contrary, the sun softens the gums and weakens them. A very important and underestimated element of the wiper system is the wiper arm. Blade pressure in the arm decreases with vehicle use and can reduce cleaning performance, while salt, dirt, sand, and dust cause friction on the arm's movable joint, which reduces blade pressure on the glass. .

Worn-out wiper blades will not clean our windows as well, leaving streaks that significantly reduce visibility, which is not only inconvenient, but can also pose a threat to our safety. We learn about the wear of the wipers mainly by the fact that instead of sliding smoothly on the glass, they “jump” on it, leaving stains or even unbroken places. Worn-out wipers also make a characteristic creaking sound.
When choosing them, you should be guided primarily by the manufacturer's recommendations. If we buy windshield wipers from a random seller or only look at the price, we may find that they do not adhere to the glass, wear out quickly, are too long, or do not fit in the mounts. In addition, it is worth choosing wipers from trusted manufacturers, because they have a higher standard. Before replacing the wipers, it is necessary to measure the length of the brushes in the car, which will avoid a possible mistake when buying.
In addition to standard framed wipers, there are also aerodynamic wipers on the market (flat, frameless, aerodynamic), whose unique shape guarantees reliable operation even in difficult conditions, i.e. when driving at high speed or in strong winds. They are built without the use of metal fittings. The rubber insert sits directly in the resilient blades of the tongue and, thanks to the appropriate shape, the tongue has little air resistance. Due to the shape of the rubber and the absence of a metal frame, the entire blade adheres better to the glass.
