What is a flexible magnet?
The flexible magnet is a permanent magnet made of ferrite magnet powder and rubber. A permanent magnet is one that emits a magnetic field without electricity. See Glossary of magnets for more information.
The added rubber allows the flexible magnet to be rolled into a small radius, such as 6.35 mm (0.25 in.). A flexible magnet can do this without causing any harm to itself, such as cracking or breaking.
The flexibility of these magnets makes them very versatile, allowing them to be used to make car decals, close a refrigerator door, or help organize inventory in a warehouse. For information on how a flexible magnet works, see How does a flexible magnet work?
There are three types of flexible magnet: tape, storage and sheet. For more information see the page: What are the types of flexible magnets? |
