What is a spring caliper?
Although spring calipers are not as commonly used today as they were in the past, they are still a valuable measuring tool in the hands of a skilled worker.
The spring joint caliper is a transfer measuring tool. Although spring-joint calipers are used for making measurements, they do not have a graduation scale. To ensure a reading, they must be checked with a measuring device such as a ruler or micrometer.
There are two types of spring-loaded calipers: external and internal.
