What is a Rifter? // Short test: Peugeot Rifter GT Line 1,5 BlueHDi 130

Well, of course, the Rifter is not a Peugeot crossover marked 3008, which is closest to it in terms of area, as well as partial sheet metal technique. But those who don't care about fashion flies (read: SUV looks) can get a less fashionable Peugeot model that will drive them much the same, but certainly less stand out. I can even explain why they gave the Partner a new name.: because by using new items from their personal program - i-cockpit and better interior materials, they wanted to emphasize that this is something other than Partner.

In fact, they did it well.

And they had another problem with Peugeot. Both Citroën and Opel are built on the same foundation, and enough variety had to be found to make each of the three different, yet attractive enough.

We have to admit to the Rifter designers that they have proven themselves enough to no longer be in the harsh shadow of Citroën Berlingo as Partner. It is also helped by the look with a completely different mask and headlights that give it a completely different look, I would say less truck-like than the Berlingo or Opel Combo Lif. And the driver's seat is also commendable.... It's the same as the crossovers, and a small flat steering wheel and setting gauges on the top of the dash give it extra convenience. Of course, it also scores points in terms of roominess, and for those who would like to use it as a comfortable family car, it also offers accessories such as the ability to open only the rear tailgate windows, fold the backrest or open the windows. on both rear sliding doors.

The family section (in the GT Line version) also includes a dual-zone air conditioner, which is suitable for cooling even on hot days, and offers three different efficiency programs. For well-being, the lowest level is sufficient, at which the air supply is less intense, but still effective.

Peugeot has the richest GT Line equipment, of course, and the Rifter does well.

The Rifter has a wide variety of drive and power options, but there are really only two different motors available.. The 1,2-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine is available with 110 or 130 horsepower, while the 1,5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine is available with 75, 100 or 130 horsepower. If you need enough power for a clear conscience, then there are fewer options, in fact only two with maximum power. But the one with the petrol engine is only compatible with the (eight-speed) automatic transmission, so for those looking for a moderately priced version, the diesel and six-speed manual combination, just like the previous one, is the best choice. verified version. It is also comfortable to travel on motorways with it (in German, here you can drive at a speed of more than 130 km / h). Even in such cases, the average flow remains within the acceptable range! However, the comfortable suspension proves less suitable only on roads with a lot of potholes.
