What is convergence?

What is convergence?Toe is just a regular jaw tilted slightly inward. This is an optional feature found in many woodworking vises to avoid top-down overloading. See shelving for more information.  What is a rack?
What is convergence? This is called toe-in because it involves adjusting the vise jaws at an inward angle.

How does the collapse work?

What is convergence? The convergence function means that the sliding jaw of the vise is slightly tilted inward so that when the jaws are empty and closed, they only meet at the top.
What is convergence? This feature is built into the design of many vises, especially screw and quick release wood vises, to compensate for the screw being at the bottom of the vise.
What is convergence? This feature means that when clamping an object, the sliding jaw does not deviate outward. Instead, the inward tilt counteracts any danger of outward tilt of the jaws as the jaws close around the workpiece.

When clamping, the movable jaw becomes virtually parallel to the fixed jaw, which provides the same clamping force throughout the entire depth of the workpiece.

What is convergence? The use of convergence avoids the risk of tilting from top to bottom, especially when performing heavy work such as sawing or drilling.
What is convergence? If the vise is not designed to converge, the user can create one himself. To do this, they can simply make a tapered jaw pad out of wood and apply it to the surface of the sliding jaw.
