What is Toyota Safety Sense and what systems does it include?

Toyota Safety Sense is a technology platform designed to provide a degree of autonomy, alert the driver to potential hazards, and help the driver reduce traffic accidents.

Most car manufacturers have introduced new and improved safety systems to help make driving as safe and comfortable as possible.

Thanks to the efforts of manufacturers, cars now offer better safety, security features, entertainment and more. 

Toyota has Feeling safe, a technology platform designed to offer a certain degree of autonomy that warns the driver of possible dangers and helps to drive the car. To reduce the number of traffic accidents, Toyota is incorporating this new system into its vehicles.

The car manufacturer has integrated systems such as:

- Pre-collision system with pedestrian and cyclist detection. This system uses a front camera and sensor that analyzes the condition of the road and vehicles moving on it. If it detects that we are getting too close to the car in front, it will notify us with beeps. 

At the moment of pressing the brake, the car will already be alerted and will apply the maximum braking force, regardless of the force with which we press the pedal. 

This system can also detect cyclists and pedestrians day and night.

– Recognition of road signs. The system consists of a front camera placed on the windshield of the car, which captures traffic signals and transmits them to the driver through a color TFT digital screen. 

– Lane change warning. If your vehicle leaves a lane and crosses into the opposite one, the Lane Departure Alert is triggered as it is able to read asphalt lines through an intelligent camera and warns you audibly and visually if you are leaving the lane.

– Intelligent high beam control. This system, using the front camera, is able to detect the lights of cars traveling in front and in the opposite direction, analyze the lighting and automatically change the high beam to the low beam.

- Adaptive cruise control. It combines the functionality of traffic sign recognition, offering to adjust the speed by touching the steering wheel to the last speed limit detected.

- Blind spot detector. ANDThe system notifies you with an audible and visual warning of the presence of other vehicles on the side. Thanks to this system, you can overtake and combinations with maximum security possible. Drive more comfortably and safely than ever with the new Toyota models.

- Parker. Its ultrasonic wave technology determines the distance between the vehicle and objects. Sensors are located on the front and rear bumpers, warning the driver with audible and visual signals on the monitor.
