What is square head rammer machine?

	The square head rammer has a square flat head made of cast iron. This provides a thorough compaction of the earth at the edges compared to round head earthmovers.
What is a square head rammer used for?
	It is most commonly used for large areas that require compaction such as roads, embankments, paving slabs and hard core compaction (compacting stone chips).
	One of the main advantages of using a square head rammer is that its straight sides allow the edges to be compacted and can also compact a large surface area due to the size of the front.
Does the head come in different sizes?
	The rammer head comes in two main sizes: 8" x 8" (200mm x 200mm) or 10" x 10" (250mm x 250mm).
	Which one should I use? A larger head will be more useful when sealing large areas, while a smaller head can be used for more confined spaces or where edges or corners need to be sealed. It can do this because of its long, straight edges.
Pen types
	There are three types of handles/shafts available on square head earth rammers: metal, wood and fiberglass.  Most pens have a soft top for ease of use, although some wood pens don't. The length of the handle varies by brand, however it can vary from 107 cm (42 in) to 137 cm (54 in).
	wooden handles Wooden handles are not as strong as some other handles and they differ depending on whether they have a soft top or not.
	Metal (steel) handles The metal pen is usually the cheapest. Made of steel, it is durable but can be quite heavy. The metal handles have a shock-absorbing upper part.
	Fiberglass handles Fiberglass handles are strong and lightweight.
	The fiberglass handles also have shock-absorbing pads.
What type of pen is best?
	For extended use, a fiberglass handle is preferred over other types of handles. Wood handles tend to break under a lot of pressure, and metal handles are much heavier than fiberglass handles, which can put strain on your back when working on a large project. However, fiberglass handles tend to be the most expensive.
