Citroën Berlingo Multispace Feel BlueHDi 100 BVM

This is a kind of proof that a car can come in handy first, and only then we think about everything else. It's true that the version we tested, i.e. the Multispace, was created in a camper van, but that's actually the reason why it's so appreciated. Design? Yes, but totally focused on usability. Capacities? This is on the verge of acceptable, but the most important thing is savings.

Comfort? Satisfactory if we are not looking for the possibility of a premium car. Endurance? Better than the first impression, which is a little confusing with the appearance of rather outdated solutions in the interior and a very “plastic” look. In fact, with these few questions and answers, we have already covered all the main features of the car. But! Berlingo is something more, it is especially true that it is already a real icon for a certain type of client. How many younger ones have grown up with him since childhood! In the latest version, it is a little refreshed, because Citroën gave this generation a few more years of life.

before replacing with a new one. In the middle of the dashboard, we find a fairly large touchscreen that has now replaced many of the control buttons. It has a disadvantage (not only with this car) in that most things can only be controlled conditionally while driving, since pressing the corresponding (otherwise large enough) icons can be a real lottery when driving on roads with potholes and on higher speeds. Thus, everyone will be satisfied that at least the control of the (manual) air conditioner is still carried out by buttons, and that it is possible to search for radios even with an accessory on the steering wheel.

The base turbodiesel 1,6-litre engine has "only '100 horsepower'" and only a five-speed manual transmission is included in this equipment, but that doesn't mean you can't drive economically. But those who would like to be fast will probably be less satisfied, although at least the author believes that this is just right for these types of family cars, where getting to the finish line first should not be the first choice. In the end, most of the reasons for the popularity of the Berlingo lie, not least in the part of the car that is located behind the driver's seat - in the spaciousness and ease of use, and also in the fact that you do not always need to think about what and how much you need to load into it. .

evaluation

  • Without a doubt, Berlingo is a concept. But that's probably why Citroën is a little less lenient on buying price benefits.
