Citroen C4 Cactus petrol 2016 review: screwing heads

Nikki Cousins and Peter Anderson road test and review the Citroen C4 Cactus petrol manual, along with specifications, fuel consumption and verdict.

Through the magic of French quirkiness and flair, the Citroen C4 Cactus has managed to bring a lot of personality to the booming but often too small SUV segment.

We've already reviewed the petrol engine with a manual transmission as the top choice of the Australian Cactus range, and the diesel car fell short of the low-tech single-clutch automatic transmission.

However, the petrol model is still not perfect as it has a price premium over its closest Japanese competitors and doesn't quite match them in terms of safety equipment.

Nikki and Peter subjected him to the Torquing Heads test to see if Cactus' petrol flair was enough to outweigh the more logical choice.

Plus: Malcolm Flynn puts the petrol C4 Cactus through a rigorous road test

And also: Richard Berry finds out what it's like to live with a C4 Cactus diesel car

More: See how the Cactus compares to the Fiat 500X and Renault Captur in Richard Blackburn's three-way comparison.
