Test drive Citroen Jumpy

The theory has a lot of evidence, the last in line is the Citroën Jumpy. Comparison with its predecessor: it has grown. Fatty. It is not only longer on the outside but also on the inside (cargo space is increased by 12-16 centimeters compared to its predecessor), taller (internal height is 14 millimeters higher, however the engineers managed to limit the external height of garage houses to a friendly 190 centimeters), offers more loading volume (up to 7 cubic meters, the predecessor could carry a maximum of five cubic meters of cargo), and its carrying capacity has increased from a maximum of 3 kilograms to a ton. and two hundred kilograms. An increment that cannot be ignored.

Otherwise, the new Jumpy already looks a lot bigger than its predecessor, but thanks to the car's interesting front end design, it's pleasing to the eye and not at all clunky. In addition, it does not feel bulky behind the wheel, partly because (in the sense of “easy delivery”) precise and correct power steering (hydraulic servo for lower versions and electro-hydraulic for more powerful ones), but also due to sufficient visibility (which can be facilitated by a rear parking system).

The Jumpy will be available with three diesel and one gasoline engines. The latter will most likely not be in our sales program, and the 16-valve four-cylinder is capable of a healthy 143 horses.

The weakest diesel, the 1-liter HDI, can only handle 6 of them, and can be more exciting when the car is loaded outside of a populated area. The rest are designed for two-liter diesel engines with a capacity of 90 and 122 "horsepower", respectively.

The Jumpy will be available as a van or minibus (and, of course, as a cab with chassis), the first version with two wheelbases and heights (and two loading options), the second with two lengths (or only one height). but as a more plucked version with seats or, as he says, a more comfortable minibus inside. It will be on sale in Slovenia from the beginning of January 2007.

First impression

Appearance 4/5

Regardless of the combination of length and height, the shape remains the same even without (rear) windows.

Engines 3/5

We won't (very likely) have a petrol engine, the 1.6 HDI is too weak.

Interior and equipment 4/5

In the more comfortable passenger version, the seats are quite comfortable, the driver's workplace does not disappoint.

Price 4/5

Bigger, better, prettier - but also more expensive. This cannot be avoided.

First class 4/5

The Jumpy is a great take on a medium-sized light commercial vehicle.
