Central Ring Road latest news - 2014, 2015, 2016

Moscow, like any other modern metropolis, is suffocated by the abundance of transport. The city is constantly reconstructing existing overpasses, building underground tunnels and multi-level interchanges. One of the pressing problems is transit freight transport, which significantly blocks and slows down the work of the Moscow Ring Road.

In order to transfer part of the flow of this transport outside the capital, back in May 2012, Medvedev signed a decree on the construction of the Central Ring Road - the central ring road, which should pass through the territory of New Moscow and some areas of the Moscow region.

The Central Ring Road plans to become another ring road, which will be located at a distance of 30-40 km from the Moscow Ring Road.

Central Ring Road project - construction timeline

According to the current plans for the future highway, we see that this route will consist of five start-up complexes that will connect the main routes departing from Moscow: M-1 Belarus, M-3 Ukraine, M-4 Don , M-7 “Volga, as well as the Small and Big Moscow Ring and all other highways - Ryazan, Kashirskoye, Simferopol, Kaluga, Kiev and so on. The second start-up complex will connect the Central Ring Road with the new high-speed highway Moscow-St. Petersburg and the current Leningrad highway.

The Central Ring Road should become a key logistics element in the Moscow region. According to the project, it will include:

  • 530 kilometers of high-quality road surface - total length;
  • 4-8-lane expressways (it is planned that at first there will be 2 lanes in one direction, then the road will be expanded to 6-8 lanes);
  • about 280 multi-level interchanges, overpasses and bridges across the rivers.

The maximum speed in different sections will be from 80 to 140 kilometers per hour.

Naturally, the road infrastructure will be developed: gas stations, service stations, shops, supermarkets, and so on. Since the road will pass both within the new borders of Moscow and near densely populated satellite cities, it will provide about 200 people with jobs.

It is clear that such a project cannot be free for drivers.

For travel on the Central Ring Road, the driver of a passenger car will pay approximately 1-1,5 rubles per kilometer, freight transport - 4 rubles.

Although such prices were indicated at the signing of the project in 2012, it is possible that after the construction is completed, the pricing policy will be revised.

There will also be free lots:

  • 5th start-up complex, the length of which is 89 kilometers - from Leningradskoe to Kievskoe highway;
  • 5th section of the 2nd launch complex.

Construction is scheduled to be completed by 2025.

At first, there were statements that the road would be closed by 2018, however, work will continue until 2022-2025. Until recently, there was also no consensus on the start of construction - the plan for such a road was in the air since 2003, it was planned to start construction in 2011, but it was constantly postponed - then in connection with the Olympics, now the construction of high-speed routes is in full swing for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Probably, the sanctions and the costs associated with the Crimea and the bridge across the Kerch Strait, which they also want to build before 2018, had an effect.

Start of construction of the Central Ring Road

Be that as it may, but on August 26, 2014, in a solemn atmosphere, the entire leadership of Moscow laid a commemorative capsule, which marked the beginning of construction.

It is worth noting that preparations for construction were in full swing, starting in 2012: projects were drawn up and redone, the approximate cost was calculated (some sources talk about the theft of funds in the amount of up to 10 billion rubles), at first the total length was planned within 510 km, at the moment, according to the general plan, it is 530 km.

An important point is the withdrawal of land, the transfer of power lines, gas pipelines, and the conduct of geodetic measurements. About a hundred institutes and design organizations have worked and are working on this project.

A little earlier, on August 12, Minister of Transport Sokolov assured Putin that By 2018, 339 kilometers of the Central Ring Road will be ready, and it will be a four-lane highway, and additional lanes will be completed after 2020.

As of October 2014, the removal of vegetation at the first launch complex is underway; Rozhayka in the Podolsk region. It is also known that preparatory work is underway on a 20-kilometer section, the foundation for asphalt laying has been fully prepared, power lines have been moved, and communications are being supplied.

We hope that by the fall of 2018 the first stage will indeed be completed and the new highway A113 of the Central Ring Road will be open for traffic.
