The American brand presents a new update to its upcoming electric motorcycle Zeus, inspired by the legendary V8 with batteries as cylinders.

Curtiss Motorcycles, formerly known as Confederate, started its business in the electric motorcycle segment. And what could be better than original concepts to get noticed! With the introduction of its Zeus in 2017, the American brand took it a step further with the introduction of a cylinder-shaped battery concept in the style of the iconic V8.

« With the battery cells enclosed in eight cylindrical towers forming an expanding radial V shape, we can not only use Glenn's iconic form language (named by Glenn Curtiss from the aviator who inspired the brand), but also maximize the battery cooling efficiency. " justifies Jordan Cornill, designer at Curtiss.

217 horsepower and 16,8 kWh

Curtiss Motorcycles gives a lot of details about its model's performance as well as just learning about style. We learned that the eight cylinders store 16,8 kWh of power, more than the Zero S, which reaches 14,4 kWh with the PowerTank option.

In terms of engine, this 8 Zeus V2020 heralds 217 horsepower (160 kW) cumulative power, double that of the Zero SR / F, the latest addition to the Californian brand.

However, it remains to be seen if Curtiss Motorcycles will manage to achieve its ambitions.
