Dacia Logan 1.6 16V Prestige
It's a little more difficult because we humans are the way we always want more; you know, the neighbor's cabbage is even sweeter, and the neighbor's wife ... oh, where did she take us. That's right, we humans are conceited. One is larger, the other is smaller.
This time, of course, Dacia Logan is on the “wallpaper”, but there is no need to talk about insanely expensive luxury and prestige in a car. Logan is one of those cars that try to offer their circle of customers as much as possible for minimal money. Fortunately, not always on the principle of "let it cost what it wants." That's why Logan is still inexpensive and fully equipped with, say, Renault's most promising Clio. When you can't even think of, say, air conditioning and power windows in the Clio, Logan has them. What's more, Logan, in fact almost every Logan, has ABS as standard.
Speaking of equipment. The best-equipped stock Logan, eloquently called the Prestige, boasts full body-color trim and bumpers and, of course, the obligatory chrome trim on the fresh air intake slot in the nose of the car. automobile. A pair of round fog lamps in the bumper are another great addition to the elegant look. Have you noticed the 15-inch wheels?
In fact, at first glance, there really is nothing in Logan, and we believe that one day the bloom of cheapness will disappear. Look at what happened to Škoda, Kia or Hyundai, only then Renault will probably have to invent a new brand for the circle of buyers, which, according to the sellers, are young families and older people (more precisely, retirees). leading.
But this Logan with a 1-litre 6-valve petrol engine is nothing short of a "retired" car. Lively, with a good final speed, it easily follows traffic in the city, on local roads, as well as on the highway. It just doesn't smell like sports to him. But not because of the engine, which is just great, considering what class of cars they were intended for. The problem is the chassis, which is cheap, just built to last, but in no way designed for active driving, as the rear end, like the rest of the car, will quickly become hectic. But this only happens on uneven pavement and cornering, of course, at above-average speeds.
The 104-horsepower engine and five-speed transmission work great together and last ten seconds from standstill to 100 kilometers per hour, and 183 kilometers per hour is not bad for a car that is quietly intended for retirees.
In fact, we really have nothing to blame him for. Fuel consumption, for example, is not excessive, as thirst in the test was an exemplary eight liters when driving on a busy mixed circle (city, road, highway).
Space also speaks in favor of usability. Logan pleasantly surprised us, almost spoiled us. It sits comfortably in both the front seats and the back seat. Mounting the steering wheel and anchor buttons is also convenient for the driver. Come to think of it, Logan looks pretty good on the inside. Meters are transparent, rich in data (there's also an on-board computer) and neat. The selected materials are also solid. Many vehicles from more established origins may be equally or even poorly equipped. Air conditioning and electric drive for all four windows, as well as electric adjustment of the mirrors from the inside, are just the tip of the iceberg, so there are a lot of pluses here. Last but not least, not every car has such a large trunk.
I wonder if all this is necessary for the average owner of such a car. One level of equipment less, perhaps the dCi diesel engine, but the car may even be closer to the wider public.

evaluation
One and a half cars, nothing to blame. It is not too expensive, it has a vigorous and not too gluttonous engine, really a lot of space with a huge trunk, decent equipment and high-quality materials.
