The range of the Tesla Model 3 has increased to 614 units. WLTP. There should also be faster charging [unofficial] • ELECTRIC CARS

A few days ago we announced a new configurator and heated steering wheel for the Tesla Model 3 Long Range and Performance. It turns out that there are two more, much more significant changes: from now on, the flight range has increased and the loading of produced cars has accelerated.

Tesla Model 3 LR from April [now] with 614 WLTP units and faster loading

A larger range is already visible in the configurator: recently Tesla Model 3 LR promised 580 WLTP units, now it is 614 WLTP units (+ 5,9%). Theoretically last value it should correspond to 525 km in real terms in mixed mode [www.elektrowoz.pl calculations], but it is worth correcting Tesla's approach to procedures and striving for maximum results. If there are real 500 kilometers, then it's okay.

The second change we discovered unofficially is Faster loading of Long Range variant... Should be +299 km in 15 minutes (+299 WLTP units, or +255 km?) and that probably refers to the Supercharger v3, and we don't have them in Poland yet. Assuming an energy consumption of 18 kWh / 100 km, we get a charging power of 216 kW. And the association with Kia EV6 and Hyundai Ioniq 5 immediately comes to mind - as if Tesla wanted to refine the charging curveoffer values similar to South Korean competitors.

Both changes cars of the concern are produced from now on (April 2021), they cannot be achieved by updating the software in older copies. This is only about the Model 3 LR, with SR + and Performance the situation has not changed. People who ordered cars earlier they have a chance to update if they don't already have a VIN.

Www.elektrowoz.pl editorial note: this is a range change ... could the Tesla Model 3 LR start getting the larger battery used in the Model 3 Performance that has been heard for a long time?
