YaMZ-5340, YaMZ-536 engine sensors

Places for installing sensors for YaMZ-5340, YaMZ-536 engines.

Sensors record operating parameters (pressures, temperatures, engine speeds, etc.) and setpoints (accelerator pedal position, EGR damper position, etc.). They convert physical (pressure, temperature) or chemical (concentration of harmful substances in exhaust gases) quantities into electrical signals.

Sensors and actuators provide interaction and information exchange between various vehicle systems (engine, transmission, chassis) and electronic units, combining them into a single data processing and control system.

The installation locations of sensors on engines of the YaMZ-530 family are shown in the figure. The location of sensors on specific engines may differ slightly from that shown in the figure and depends on the purpose of the engine.

Most of the sensors and actuators needed to control engine operation are connected to the sensor or injector harness. The scheme for connecting sensors and actuators to the harness of sensors and injectors for engines of the YaMZ-530 family is the same. Some sensors and actuators associated with the vehicle's electrical circuit, such as accelerator pedal sensors, are connected to the vehicle's intermediate harness. Since consumers install their intermediate harness, the scheme for connecting some sensors to this harness may differ depending on the engine model and vehicle.

In the diagram, the contacts (pins) of the sensors are designated as "1.81, 2.10, 3.09". The numbers 1, 2 and 3 at the beginning of the designation (before the dot) indicate the name of the harness to which the sensor is connected, namely 1 - intermediate harness (for one car), 2 - sensor harness; 3 - injector wiring harness. The last two digits after the dot in the designation indicate the designation of the pins (pins) in the corresponding harness connector (for example, "2.10" means that the crankshaft speed sensor pin is connected to the engine harness). 10 ECU connector 2).

Sensor malfunctions.

The failure of any of the sensors can be caused by the following malfunctions:

  • The sensor output circuit is open or open.
  • Short circuit of the sensor output to "+" or battery ground.
  • The sensor readings are out of the regulated range.
