Daymak is launching the Spiritus, a new three-wheeler that aims to be the world's fastest as well as the most expensive.

The new Daymak Spiritus is capable of a top speed even faster than the Tesla Roadster, from 0 to 60 mph in 1.9 seconds, it also has 2 versions, one of them is quite affordable.

Canadian electric vehicle manufacturer Daymak is making a lot of noise after announcing a series of new electric vehicles, but with the unveiling of its first three-wheeled electric vehicle, Daymak Spiritus, the firm has monopolized the spotlight.

The Daymak Spiritus is said to be "the world's fastest three-wheeled electric vehicle".

The three-wheeled electric car is available in two performance options. The Spiritus Ultimate has a top speed of 130 mph (209 km/h), while the Spiritus Deluxe has a top speed of 85 mph (137 km/h).

While the most affordable model offers a reasonable 0-60 mph time of 6.9 seconds, the higher-powered Ultimate claims a 0-60 mph time of 1.8 seconds, a speed that will undoubtedly break your neck, although of course not literally. That's even faster than the 0-60 mph time of 1.9 seconds.

The Ultimate version owes its top speed to an all-wheel-drive layout that reaches 147 kW (197 hp). It also has a larger 80 kWh battery with a range of 300 miles (482 km) compared to the smaller 36 kWh battery in the Deluxe model which provides a range of 180 miles (300 km). The Deluxe model also has less than 75 kW (100 hp), although it is not clear if it uses front or rear wheel drive.

One thing is for sure: the Deluxe version's advertised $19,995 price tag is certainly more affordable than the Ultimate's whopping $149,995 price tag.

What does Daymak Spiritus offer in terms of security and technology?

Both Daymak Spiritus models feature four airbags, three-point seat belts, scissor-opening doors, a small solar panel for trickle-charging, and built-in alarm systems.

The Ultimate model adds carbon fiber bodywork, wireless charging, autonomous driving, automatically opening doors, and a “Traction and Suspension System.”

Of course, it's easy enough to add a list of fancy features when the car isn't there yet. Although, to be honest, they seem to have a working prototype, as shown below.

Daymak is taking reservations to enable production of the vehicles at the company's Toronto facility. Assuming they stick to their schedule, Daymak claims the Spiritus models should be available in 2023.

The Spiritus is just the first of six models that debuted as part of the Daymak Avvenire line, introduced late last year.

Other lightweight electric vehicles in the lineup include the Terra electric bike, the Foras indoor recumbent bike, the all-weather AWD Tectus electric scooter, the Aspero enclosed ATV, and the high-performance Skyrider flying electric vehicle.
