“Delphi started working with the Ferrari team as early as the design phase of the 458 GT2,” said Vincent Fagard, Managing Director of Delphi Thermal Systems Europe. "This close collaboration has resulted in the development of a fully optimized air conditioning system to meet the demands of racing cars."

Based on standard 458 Italia components, the condenser for the GT2 version has been adjusted to reduce its negative effect on engine cooling and aerodynamic drag. In addition, the racing version's compressor is 2.2 kg lighter and consumes 30% less energy. The device also uses a vibration absorber capable of withstanding the higher vibrations found in racing cars.

Finally, the HVAC module has been modified to remove features not required for race cars, including air recirculation and dual zone operation.
