The actions of the police Znich. How to safely get to the graves?

The actions of the police Znich. How to safely get to the graves? November 1 is traditionally the time for visiting cemeteries. Like every year, there will be more traffic around the necropolises all over Poland. Travel is hindered by autumn weather, which requires more attention and concentration behind the wheel.

At the turn of October and November we visit the graves of our relatives. In these few days we move very often, which means that the traffic on the roads, not only near cemeteries, is much greater. If you add rush, early twilight and capricious weather to this, it is easy to get into a collision or an accident. An increase in the number of police patrols on the roads can be expected. Officials will pay attention, in particular, to the sobriety of drivers and compliance with the speed limit.

During last year's police operation "Znich" carried out by the police, 534 accidents occurred on our roads, in which 49 people died and 654 were injured. Even worse, the number of detained drunk drivers at that time amounted to as many as 1363. What can be done to make the statistics better this year?

First of all, if possible, it is worth visiting the graves of relatives not on November 1, but a few days earlier or later. Thanks to this, we will avoid crowds and many nerves associated, for example, with finding a parking space. This year, you can expect an increase in traffic from October 27 to November 2. It should be remembered that the organization of traffic around cemeteries changes very often. So let's avoid driving by heart. In addition, heavy car traffic is not everything. There will also be many passers-by in the vicinity of the necropolis. A minute of inattention can quickly end in sharp braking, and those in autumn conditions on slippery surfaces are not the easiest.

If there is a further journey, it is worth preparing for it. When to start? From the technical condition of the car. If we have to travel several hundred kilometers, driving a non-working car will not be advisable, even if we have assistants. Therefore, it is worth checking the main working fluids, such as the condition of the oil, brake and coolant, as well as making sure that we have efficient lighting. But that is not all. “During the Festival of the Dead, police checks are intensified, and it will be difficult to count on leniency on the part of officers,” explains Lukasz Leus, an expert at the OC/AC comparison system mfind.pl. – No valid insurance policy or technical testing of the vehicle will result in seizure or registration of a registration certificate. You should also think about buying an auto hull policy. Especially in the autumn-winter period, this is really useful, and it is very easy to lose attention for a moment in a dense stream.

But autumn is also a time of adverse road conditions. Rain, fog, leaves lying on the roads, or shorter and shorter days are not conducive to traveling by car. Therefore, it is worth remembering in advance the rules for driving a car at night and in fog. The primary goal of a trip is always a safe return home, so be especially careful and consider all road and weather options, even the most pessimistic ones.

In conclusion, it is worth recalling the principle “Have you drunk? Do not eat". Unfortunately, police statistics show that many drivers still do not use it. Therefore, if we are not sure of our own sobriety, we can check it completely free of charge and anonymously at almost every police station.
