Diode bridge of the VAZ 2110 generator: price and replacement

In some previous materials, one could read such information that quite often the reason for the loss of charging the battery on the VAZ 2110 is the failure of the rectifier unit, that is, the diode bridge of the generator. This does not happen so often, but if you are unlucky and this part burned out, then below will be instructions on how to replace it.

So, in order to do everything on our own without contacting a service station, we need the following tool:

To proceed with this repair, the first step is to remove the alternator from the vehicle. Then we unscrew the fasteners of the generator brushes and remove them. Next, using a 13 key, you need to unscrew the nut, which is shown clearly in the picture:

Then we unscrew the three bolts securing the axle body to the device. They are marked in yellow in the photo below:

Now it turns out that the entire VAZ 2110 diode bridge is attached with winding wires. Here, a flat-blade screwdriver will help us to bend the contacts and remove the wires from the rectifier unit. Everything is shown schematically in the photo:

We carry out a similar procedure with the remaining two leads with a wire and calmly after that we remove the diode bridge from the generator:

If you need to buy a new diode bridge, you can find it at your nearest auto shop, since the part is quite common. The price of this part ranges from 300 to 400 rubles. Replacement is carried out in reverse order using the same tool. Pay special attention to the quality of the assembly of the generator so that all nuts and bolts are tightened perfectly.
