What is a drill used for?
| Drill bits are long and strong, making them ideal for deep hole drilling. | ||
| Since augers were originally used to transport materials that were difficult to handle, such as water or grain, they are excellent for removing material from wells, greatly reducing the risk of clogging or jamming. | |
 | Their rugged construction and cutting blade arrangement mean that drill bits can be used in hand drills just as easily as they can be used in electric drills. This can be especially useful when drilling in tight spaces where there may not be enough room for a drill due to the length of the drill. | |
 | All these strengths make augers ideal for drilling holes for cables and pipes in walls and between floors, as well as for drilling thick and strong wood such as decking. | |
 | They are often used by locksmiths to create grooves in thick wooden doors. | |
