| They are commonly used to help with door installation, as they need to clear the floor in order to open freely. Doors can be heavy and difficult to operate by one person. Both hands will be free to fasten the hinges while the door is lifted with the foot. |

 | Another common use is to help install drywall, also known as wallboard, drywall, and drywall (especially in the US). These boards are used for cladding interior walls and ceilings. Drywall is mounted flush with the ceiling, not the floor. It is a faster alternative to traditional plaster that takes a long time to dry. |
