The car itself is a very unique product, invented by man. It combines comfort, safety, speed and, of course, technology. Moreover, some of them are clear to us, but we did not even think about the appointment of others. For example, do you know why the motor shield of any car has a huge number of notches and bulbs? After all, it would be much easier to make it simply even. But it was not there. The motor shield is hidden from prying eyes. From the hood it is covered by the engine, an abundance of wires, pipe assemblies, noise and heat insulation mats. From the inside, we do not see it thanks to the front panel and a beautiful fleecy carpet with the same sound insulation hidden under it. However, if you try to examine this element of the body structure, looking behind the engine and under the layers of protection, you can see that it is simply replete with stampings and recesses, the meaning and purpose of which is very difficult to guess. And yet, this is a very important point.

Protrusions, depressions, recesses of strange and dissimilar geometric shapes are located over the entire surface of the motor shield. And there are several reasons for that.

First of all, various stampings create an abundance of faces. And as you know, extra edges are an increase in the rigidity of the motor shield, on which, in turn, the body's resistance to torsion depends. And the stiffer the body, the higher its strength characteristics, which ultimately has a positive effect on the car's handling.

Protection of the driver and front passenger in the event of a severe accident also falls on the engine shield. In addition to the spars, engine, transmission and bumper, the motor shield also participates in the absorption of impact energy and protects passengers from leakage of various liquids into the passenger compartment, which can be not only hot, but also combustible.

The comfort of the car is different. Driving comfort, suspension comfort… But there is such a thing as acoustic comfort. And just for the sake of it, our motor shield plays an important role.

The thing is that the car itself is very vibroloaded. However, all these notches and bulges do not allow the element to resonate during movement. Consequently, this decision allowed the use of a thinner layer of sound insulation from the passenger compartment in the manufacture of the car. And this also affects the cost of the machine for the end user.
