Mass air flow sensor on Priora: fault diagnosis and replacement

On all VAZ injection vehicles and on Lada Priora (except engine 21127 - it is no longer there) including a mass air flow sensor, which is located between the air filter housing and the inlet pipe of the injector.

Symptoms of failure of the mass air flow sensor can be different and I can tell you about the main ones that were noticed from personal experience:

1. A sharp jump in fuel consumption at idle speed (can increase from 0,6 to 1,2 liters per hour, that is, almost twice)
2. Floating speed on the twentieth - from 500 to 1500 rpm. and more
3. Dips when pressing the gas pedal

In order not to be unfounded and to show everything in practice, I recorded a special video clip that clearly demonstrates the faulty mass air flow sensor. Although the video was made using Kalina as an example, there will be no difference with Priora in this case. The symptoms are the same.

As you can see, the consequences of a sensor malfunction are quite unpleasant, so it is not worth delaying its replacement. Moreover, you can perform this repair yourself without unnecessary problems.

To do this, you need a minimum of tools, namely:

1. crosshead screwdriver
2. 10 mm head
3. Ratchet handle

Procedure for replacing the Lada Priora mass air flow sensor

Everything is quite simple here and the whole work will not take more than 5 minutes. The first step is to unscrew the clamp bolt to loosen it.

Then we pull off the pipe from the sensor body, as shown clearly in the photo below.

Then, using a ratchet with a head, we unscrew the two mounting bolts of the DMRV from the back side.

Disconnect the plug from the sensor by pressing the latch and pulling the block to the side.

And now you can move the sensor to the side, finally removing it from the car. If necessary, we will replace it with a new one.

[colorbl style="blue-bl"]Please note that it is necessary to install a new DMRV on the Prior with exactly the same markings as on the old factory part, otherwise you may not achieve normal engine operation.[/colorbl]
