Electric car surcharge – which cars will fit in the limit? [LIST] • CARS

When a call is made to apply for an electric car subsidy - or rather, a refund of some of the money spent on a purchase - many of our readers will certainly go to car dealerships for shopping. Here is a list of vehicles that we believe will be eligible for personal assistance.

Let's start with a reminder: the price threshold for buying a car is PLN 125, indicated on the invoice. (price). We know that some brand stores are already considering "optimization", that is, splitting the purchase costs into two different accounts, but we strongly discourage such an activity. The subsidy is government aid and can be closely monitored.

If we agree to such a “price break,” the return of the financial bonus will be the least of the hassle. We can be accused of extortion of state funds, which entails criminal liability.

Models that fit exactly into the price threshold for individuals

Now let's move on to inventory. These are the models for which they MUST fit into the price threshold that guarantees a surcharge. Italy We have marked those electric vehicles for which the official Polish price has not yet been indicated. Virtually all models will be available for pickup from the dealership in 2020:

  • segment A, city cars:
    • Skoda CitigoE iV,
    • VW e Up,
    • Seat Mii Electric,
    • Smart Equalizer ForTwo,
    • Smart Equalizer ForFour,
  • segment Bslightly larger city cars:
    • Opel Corsa-e as standard,
    • Peugeot e-208 in basic version.

Cars and vehicles unknown and announced

Automotive group that maybe claiming a surcharge is not particularly long. Our uncertainty stems from the fact that manufacturers are clearly preparing for the entry into force of the rules, but they are still thinking whether to go down to the threshold for individuals (PLN 125 gross) or, perhaps, wait for sole proprietors, companies, institutions, in which the threshold is 000 PLN net for VAT payers.

Here is a list of cars and vehicles that MAY be eligible for the premium:

  • Renault Twizy – the car is cheap and sometimes qualifies as a car (category M1) and sometimes as a quadricycle (category L7e). The regulation only applies to M1 vehicles, we could not find a current Twizy approval certificate, so we sent a request to Renault.
  • Renault Zoe ZE 40 and ZE 50 – only after receiving a discount, because the price of a car starts from PLN 135. But also worth a look:

  • Volkswagen ID.3 45 kWh (2021) – the car in this version must have a price of “less than PLN 130”, which means that the cost of its purchase will be in the region of the surcharge threshold,
  • Volkswagen E-Golf – the cost of the car exceeds PLN 140, but there is a small chance that someone will negotiate a big discount.

Cars and vehicles that are definitely not payable

The list here is much longer and covers almost all models with batteries from 50 kWh and above. These are B-SUV or C and higher segments:

    • Kia e-Niro, Kia e-Soul,
    • Nissan Leaf, Nissan Leaf and +
    • DS 3 Crossback E-Tense
    • Hyundai Kona Electric, Hyundai Ioniq Electric,
    • Tesla Model 3, Model S, Model X,
    • Volkswagen ID.3 1st, Volkswagen ID.3 58 kWh, Volkswagen ID.3 77 kWh,
    • Porsche Taikan,
    • Another.

Of course, a situation may arise when a Polish distributor will struggle to fall below the price threshold of 125 zlotys. If this happens, we will definitely inform you about such situations.

We add that for additional payments for individuals also will not be allowed:

  • electric motorcycles,
  • Hybrid plug (PHEV) I watch (HEV),
  • natural gas (CNG) vehicles.
