One-way road – find out the definition and legal regulations!

Cars move on the roadway, which is usually a concrete surface, thanks to which the wheels have good traction and the vehicle can move smoothly. However, a one-way road is not the same as a one-way street. Find out what types of roads our country has and how this particular road differs from them. Are there any laws governing the maximum speed on these types of roads?

Dual lane vs single lane - what's the difference?

Dual carriageways and single carriageways are not the same thing. The second is a separate strip of land that allows vehicles to move in one or two directions. It differs in that they have one belt that allows this. For example, northbound vehicles have one lane, as do southbound vehicles.

A dual carriageway, as the name suggests, is wider. These are two carriageways, permanently separated from each other. It allows cars to overtake others at a speed of no more than 100 km / h, without the risk of colliding with oncoming traffic, because each carriageway is equipped with at least two lanes.

Types of roads - driver's license. What should you know?

To pass your driver's license, you need to be fluent in road types and their definitions. You will be bound by, among other things, the meanings of words such as:

  • medicine;
  • highway;
  • Freeway;
  • road for bicycles;
  • Road;
  • by hand;
  • intersection.

You should be able to explain what phrases such as a two-way highway or a one-way road mean. Then you will not make a mistake in the exam!

Single lane dual carriageway – is it always like this?

A two-way one-way carriageway may also be one-way. This applies to places with little traffic, such as single-family housing estates or apartment buildings. This arrangement facilitates movement and makes driving safer.

Single carriageway – legal definition not clear

A single lane road does not have a separate definition in Polish law. Its nature actually derives from other rules that govern the definition of a carriageway, road, and lane. For example, a road is a separate strip of land, consisting of a carriageway, a shoulder, a sidewalk, a pedestrian road, intended for the movement of cars and other vehicles, as well as people.

One-way road - definition according to regulations

According to Polish law, a one-way road is a road with a single carriageway, on which traffic is only allowed in one direction. It cannot be turned around. At the end, the sign B-2 is used, meaning entry is prohibited. Also, when turning right, keep to the right side of the road, and when turning left, keep to the left.

It should be noted that dual carriageways are usually much more convenient for drivers.. They provide a smooth ride and are simply safer. They reduce the risk of collisions and traffic jams. Therefore, they are often used between cities, for example, in the Upper Silesian and Zaglenb metropolises.

Driving on two-way roads is not difficult.

Driving on dual carriageways means you have to pay attention to cars coming from the other side and pay close attention to the signs. One-way roads make up the majority of roads in our country, so you will have to get used to the fact that, for example, when selling a car, you have to watch everything that comes from the other side. However, if you're just giving up your driver's license, don't worry! Driving a car can be dangerous, but it's actually not difficult. The most important thing is to follow the rules and be aware of what is happening around you. Then the risk of an accident is really small.
