Road aggression is not a new concept, although it has become increasingly prominent in recent years. The first mention of aggressive drivers appeared in 1949, when two Canadian psychiatrists analyzed the behavior of taxi drivers and revealed the relationship between lifestyle and accident rate.

The group with unstable marital status and disregard for the law had more accidents than drivers working in families and complying with the law. The first definitions of road rage were created in the 80s and described the concept as follows - an actual or intentional action that leads to psychological or physical harm.

Polish drivers tend to methodically put pressure on other road users. Suede behaviors, such as deliberately braking hard in front of someone or so-called bumper bumping, are not only unnecessary, but also dangerous.

“We very often run over someone's bumper to push them away, or we don't keep our distance at all,” says Karolina Pilarczyk, a Polish licensed drifter.

According to a 2015 study by research house Maison on behalf of the Skoda brand, 9% of men and 5% of women use horns and lights when the driver in front of them is driving too slowly. Only 1 in 10 respondents reported verbal aggression and offensive road gestures.
