Dott gets on the electric bike

Dott, which until now has been spun off into the micromobility world by a fleet of electric scooters, has taken up the self-service electric bike market. London and Paris will be the first cities to be equipped.

Dott, best known for free electric scooters, says he spent two years developing his first electric bike, which he describes as "the most advanced on the market."

Assembled in Portugal, the Dott electric bike features a low, one-piece cast aluminum frame and an especially minimalist design. According to the characteristics, the operator is not generous with information. We just know that it will weigh just under 30kg and that it will have a small LCD screen to keep track of its remaining autonomy and instantaneous speed. Small 26-inch wheels allow it to adapt to all types of patterns.

“Our multimodal service (e-bike and e-scooter) will include the same level of operational excellence: removable batteries, safe charging, operations performed by experienced professionals, systematic repair and recycling” summarizes Maxim Romen, co-founder of Dott.

Since March 2021

Dott will launch its first e-bikes in March 2021 in London, but also in Paris, where Lime and TIER have selected an operator to deploy a fleet of 5000 e-scooters.

According to Le Parisien, Dott plans to host a fleet of 500 electric bicycles in Paris. If the municipality gives the green light, it could quickly grow to 2000 cars.

In terms of pricing, Le Parisien again reveals the information, offering a flat rate of € 1 per booking, followed by 20 cents per minute of use.
