Dremel 8100

The Dremel 8100 is a premium tool for precision manual work on a variety of materials. Can be used for grinding, cutting, polishing, drilling, milling, parting, rusting, brushing, signing? depending on the tip used. It is used when working with soft metals, ceramics and plastics.

Dremel 8100 drives a powerful 7,2V motor powered by a lithium-ion battery. It is a pity that there is only one battery in the kit, because when it is discharged, you will have to stop working. But there is good news, the battery can be fully charged in one hour.

The small power of the tool should be enough for fine work. The quiet, balanced motor has plenty of flexibility and plenty of torque.

The Dremel 8100 has a special screw-on mini pistol grip. Thanks to this, the body of the device can be held very comfortably during operation. It's all so balanced that you don't have to think about the tool all the time, but you can focus on the work you're doing. Of course, the advantage of a battery drive is that it does not constrain or restrict movement during operation, like a power cord.

The axis of the tool does not swing sideways during operation and is possibly supported several times, which well reduces all longitudinal and transverse vibrations.

It should be recognized that the perfect centering of the tool axis is maintained due to the precise design. In order to clamp the cutting tip with high quality, the kit should have a set of 3 clamps of different sizes, but I did not find them. The manual, which is written only in English, lists these clamps and a stretched flexible hose that transmits the drive from the spindle to the tool, but I did not find it in this set either. There was a charger and an already replaced pistol grip, pulled to the body with an additional ring. I did not find any cutting attachments in the eye-catching black and blue soft bag made of durable plastic, so the corresponding attachments must be purchased separately. Such sets are available in stores without problems.

To install or replace a tool, you need to fix the head. Press the lock lever. The specially shaped EZ Twist nut is designed to tighten the head, which acts as a wrench. So all you need is a second hand with no extra tools to securely clamp the cutting tips. If we don't have a pistol grip? then you will have to use a wrench or pliers.

After placing the tool in the head, select the rotation speed. They can then be adjusted during operation. Available speed range from 5000 to 30000 rpm. These 30000 10 revolutions without load. The speed slider is set from the "off" position, when we want to stop the grinder, to the position marked on the XNUMX scale. There is no cradle switch, which I think would be useful for safety reasons.

The device weighs only 415 g. Lightweight design means that there is no significant hand fatigue during operation, as is often the case when using heavy power tools. After finishing work, hide the device in a suitcase that closes with a zipper. There is also space for accessories: a charger, an extra ring and a pen. Unfortunately, the organizer in the imposing suitcase is made of cardboard and I don't think it's very durable. However, he is not the most important.

I recommend the Dremel 8100 as a good tool for small tasks in the home workshop and for modeling work. Working with such an accurate and powerful power tool is a pleasure.
