DS 4 Crossback BlueHDi 120 EAT6 So chic

I confess that at the beginning of our communication, Dis and I had a little quarrel. I loved it, but I knew there was a Citroën C4 hiding underneath. It's like predicting what babies will look like, who wear a ton of makeup in the evening, wear fake eyelashes and nails, push-up bras, and extend their hair in the morning. Good that. And then it happened that we went to a comparative test of family limousines (which you could read about in the previous issue of the magazine "Auto"), so we needed one accompanying car.

At first he flirted with the supertest Audi A4, but since the DS has not yet been painted, he decided to go with us to the island of Pag. From the very beginning, I was delighted with the automatic transmission. It can be blamed for hesitation when releasing gas, but the operation and shifting is very fast. Unlike the regular DS 4, the Crossback version is 40 millimeters higher than the ground, but that difference comes in handy for driving comfort, not off-roading. The DS 4 itself has a rather rigidly tuned chassis, so it's a combination of a taller body with good shock absorbers, Michelin Pilot Sport tires and a fairly precise steering system that is ordered for such a car. The 120-horsepower turbodiesel isn't quite the sporty variety, but it will convince you with its smooth ride and low consumption, and combined with the large fuel tank, you'll have to pee and get ice cream at the pump more often than you would with a diesel.

I would like to be a sedan, but with a conditionally suitable rear pair of doors, the situation is different. I wish I could be a soft SUV, but with a sporty chassis and 18-inch tires, it doesn't look the best here. By placing the DS brand above the Citroën brand, it will flirt with the premium class, but the pedigree of the popular C4 does not allow it to do so. I confess that at the beginning of our communication, Dis and I had a little quarrel. I loved it, but I knew there was a Citroën C4 hiding underneath.

It can be blamed for hesitation when releasing gas, but the operation and shifting is very fast. Unlike the regular DS 4, the Crossback version is 40 millimeters higher than the ground, but that difference will come in handy for more than just navigating off-road while driving. The DS 4 itself has a rather rigidly tuned chassis, so it's a combination of a taller body with good shock absorbers, Michelin Pilot Sport tires and a fairly precise steering system that is ordered for such a car. Inside, you'll notice the brotherly bond with the Citroën C4 even earlier. Some materials can be slightly modified, but the design itself remains practically unchanged. For anyone suffering from humbophobia, it's nice to note that most of the switches are now hidden in the XNUMX-inch touchscreen infotainment system. For cider lovers, it is especially gratifying that the device supports Apple CarPlay connectivity. While being in the front of the car is still quite pleasant, there is almost claustrophobia in the rear.

Leaving aside the fact that there is little room for wrinkles, the additional feeling of tightness is enhanced by the heavily darkened glasses, which do not move from above. Quite unusual considering it's still a five-door car. In addition, the shape of the tailgate itself is such that, when opened, one part is sharpened so that it quickly eliminates the unevenness on the child's head. Rich equipment also brought the desired place in the premium class. Apart from some of the previously mentioned things, it is worth highlighting some things that are not quite everyday in this class of cars.

This is especially true for massage seats, LED headlights, wireless internet and more. Is that enough to take such a car to a higher level? The premium toddler market is ruthless, so we doubt any competitor will have sleepless nights at the expense of the DS 4 Crossback. My uncle at the car dealership will ask for 35 thousand euros for such a car, but we are sure that Citroën, sorry, in DS will also offer you a good discount.
