Audi ASE engine
Content
The 4.0-liter diesel engine Audi ASE or A8 4.0 TDI was produced from 2003 to 2005 and was installed only on our popular A8 sedan in the back of D3 before its first restyling. This V8 diesel had an unsuccessful timing design and quickly gave way to 4.2 TDI engines.
The EA898 series also includes: AKF, BTR, CKDA and CCGA.

Disadvantages, breakdowns and problems of the internal combustion engine ASE
This motor had weak timing chain tensioners, which often led to a jump
Also here, the intake manifold flaps often fell off and fell into the cylinders.
The remaining massive internal combustion engine problems are usually related to fuel system failures.
Saving on oil here greatly reduces the life of turbines and hydraulic lifters
Check the condition of the glow plugs or they will simply break when unscrewed
