Lada Largus engine and its characteristics

Pepper-Largus-8

A few words about the engines that are going to be installed on the new Lada Largus station wagon. As well as on the previous Avtovaz models, both simple 8-valve engines and new modern 16-valve engines of higher power will be installed on the Largus.
When choosing an engine, each buyer decides for himself which engine to choose. If you prefer a quieter and measured ride, without sharp acceleration, and driving at low revs, then of course, without any questions, you need an 8-valve engine.

Indeed, in terms of thrust, it is the 8-valve engine that is considered one of the best. And there will be much less problems with this engine than with a newer engine. Since the 8-valve engine of Lada Largus is made for Euro 3, it is possible to pour 92nd gasoline without any problems, and not worry about the safety of the engine. And there will be no problems such as bent valves when the timing belt breaks.

Well, for those who like fast driving, driving at high revs, the 16-valve engine will be the best solution. After all, the difference in power between an 8-valve and 16-valve engine is almost 20 horsepower, you must agree - this is a fairly high power reserve and the advantage here is for a newer engine with 16 valves. But along with power, problems are added that are common to almost all 16-valve engines. Firstly, it is only 95 gasoline, because the toxicity standards are already Euro-4 on these engines. Secondly, a more technically complex unit, which will be more expensive to maintain and repair in the event of a breakdown.

The most common problem that occurs with such engines is a broken timing belt, as a result of which you can pay more than 20 rubles for repairs. Although, if you follow all the norms and recommendations for the operation of the Lada Largus with a 000-valve engine, then there should be no problems with the valves, while changing the timing belt, rollers, pump, and also watch the normal tension of the timing belt, and then everything will be in order and expensive repairs can be avoided!
