The 2.5-liter Land Rover TD5 diesel engine with the 10P index was assembled from 1998 to 2002 and installed on the Defender SUV, as well as Discovery II under its own 14P index. When updated to Euro 3 economy standards, these units received other designations: 15P and 16P.
The TD5 line also includes diesel: 15P.

Disadvantages, breakdowns and problems of the internal combustion engine 10P
The main problems are connected with breaks in the electrical wiring under the valve cover.
In second place is the rapid wear of the cams and rockers of the pump-injector drive
Due to the destruction of the sealing rings of the injectors, the fuel is mixed with oil
Often the axis of the turbine bypass damper wedges and its control valve fails
Also, cracking of the cylinder head and crankshaft damper pulley is often found here.
