Lexus LM300h is the first minivan in the line of cars of the Japanese brand Lexus. The machine is designed primarily for buyers from China and some other Asian countries. The car has a hybrid power plant. Its power is sufficient for dynamic movement in urban conditions.

The Lexus LM300h was first presented to the public on April 15-18, 2019 at the Shanghai Auto Show. The manufacturer kept the official release date secret. The car became available only by pre-order. Sales started only in 2020. A full-fledged conveyor assembly has been established at the Toyota Auto Body plant.
The Lexus LM300h is based on the Toyota Alphard minivan. MC II was taken as a platform. The appearance of the car has undergone noticeable changes. In the design of the front were added:
- new radiator grill;
- updated optics;
- chrome decor.
The wheelbase of the car is 3000 mm. Due to the more rounded elements of the exterior design, the Lexus LM300h turned out to be 65 mm longer than the Toyota Alphard. The shock absorbers were reconfigured in the car, but the manufacturer did not go for a complete rework of the suspension and adaptation of the air springs. The bend at the bottom looks interesting and memorable, smoothly approaching the rear wheel arches. The car has a hinged door for the convenience of boarding passengers.
Designers did a great job on interior trim. In the car, the main passengers inside the minivan are the rear passengers. There is plenty of free space for them. The Lexus LM300h is available in two trim levels:

The basic configuration of Elegance has a seven-seat configuration of seats according to the 2 + 2 + 3 scheme. A more luxurious version of the Royal Edition comes with four seats with a 2 + 2 seating. In a rich configuration there is an electrochromatic glass with a built-in 26-inch screen. Armchairs of the second row are equipped with:

A 300AR-FXE hybrid power unit is installed on the hood of the Lexus LM2h minivan. This is a derated version of the base 2AR motor. The internal combustion engine works on the Atkinson cycle. The power plant has gained popularity due to its high efficiency and excellent reliability.
The 2AR-FXE power unit has an aluminum cylinder block. Sleeves have an uneven outer surface. It contributes to the most durable welding and improves heat dissipation. The crankshaft is located with 10 mm desaxage, which reduces the load on the parshen-sleeve pair.
The engine design has a cycloid type gear oil pump. It is installed in the timing chain cover. The filter has a collapsible design. Therefore, periodic replacement is necessary only for replaceable cartridges. This reduces maintenance costs and reduces environmental pollution.
2AR-FXE engines are equipped with Dual VVT-i variable valve timing. Thanks to this, it was possible to optimize the environmental and power characteristics of the power plant. A single-row chain is used to drive the timing. It has a separate lubrication with a special nozzle.
The intake manifold is made of plastic. It has swirl flaps inside. They change the collector geometry. The flaps speed up the air flow. They are able to create turbulence in the working chambers.

The engine number of the 2AR-FXE is located directly on the site on the cylinder block. It is located at the bottom of the motor. The marking is located near the gearbox mount. To view the number, it is recommended to use an inspection mirror.
Reliability and weaknesses
The 2AR-FXE motor has generally good reliability. At the same time, its use on the Lexus LM300h has a very short period. The engine design features compact light-alloy pistons with a vestigial skirt. The maintainability of 2AR-FXE engines is extremely low. Their aluminum cylinder block is not subject to capital and is considered disposable. Therefore, minivan car owners will not face the need to repair the engine soon.
Minor problems with the 2AR-FXE motor are not so difficult to fix. The power unit has no significant design flaws. Difficulties arise only with the search for spare parts. Repair parts are not so popular, since the 2AR-FXE motor has not received much distribution.
Purchase of a contract engine
Finding a 2AR-FXE contract engine with the Lexus LM300h is almost impossible. The reason for this is that the minivan has just begun to be produced. Accordingly, the car does not go to auto-dismantling because of its novelty, low prevalence and high cost. On sale it is easier to find 2AR-FXE engines that are removed from:

- Toyota RAV4 XA40;

The approximate price for 2AR-FXE power units is about 70 thousand rubles. It should be borne in mind that the motor is not repairable. Therefore, it is important to pay attention to preliminary diagnosis. It is impossible to restore a “killed” engine, therefore it is recommended to bypass offers of 25-40 thousand rubles.
