The family of in-line 6-cylinder Mercedes M104 engines was produced from 1989 to 1998 in three versions: E28 with a volume of 2.8 liters, E30 with a volume of 3.0 liters and E32 with a volume of 3.2 liters. There were also especially powerful AMG versions with the E34 and E36 indices for 3.4 and 3.6 liters, respectively.
The R6 line also includes internal combustion engines: M103 and M256.
