Ford 2.2 TDCi engines

The 2.2-liter Ford 2.2 TDCi diesel engines were produced by the company from 2006 to 2018 and were installed on a number of popular mod models by Ford, Land Rover and Jaguar. In fact, these power units are clones of the Peugeot DW12MTED4 and DW12CTED4 engines.
Diesels also belong to this family: 2.0 TDCi.
Engine design Ford 2.2 TDCi
In 2006, a 2.2-liter diesel engine with a capacity of 156 hp debuted on the Land Rover Freelander II SUV, which was one of the variations of the Peugeot DW12MTED4 internal combustion engine. In 2008, its 175-horsepower modification appeared on the Ford Mondeo, Galaxy and S-Max models. By design, there is a cast-iron block, an aluminum 16-valve cylinder head with hydraulic compensators, a combined timing drive from a belt and a small chain between the camshafts, a modern Bosch EDC16CP39 Common Rail fuel system with piezo injectors, and a powerful Garrett GTB1752VK turbocharger with variable geometry and intercooler.
In 2010, this diesel engine was upgraded, similar to the Peugeot DW12CTED4 engine. Thanks to a more efficient Mitsubishi TD04V turbine, its power was raised to 200 hp.
Modifications of Ford 2.2 TDCi engines
The first generation of such diesel engines developed 175 hp and was equipped with a Garrett GTB1752VK turbine:

Disadvantages, problems and breakdowns of the internal combustion engine 2.2 TDCi
The main problems of this unit are typical for most modern diesel engines: piezo injectors do not tolerate bad fuel, the USR valve clogs rather quickly, the particulate filter and turbocharger geometry are not very high resource.
This diesel engine does not really like liquid oils and it is better to use 5W-40 and 5W-50 lubricants, otherwise, with intensive acceleration from low revs, the liners can turn here.
The manufacturer indicated an engine resource of 200 km, but they usually go up to 000 km.
