The debut of the Opel Zafira A car took place back in 1999. The model is based on the GM T base. The same platform was used in the Astra G / B. - South America - Chevrolet Zafira;
- United Kingdom - Vauxhall Zafira;
- Australia - Holden Zafira.
The next generation of the car, intended for mass production, was introduced in 2011. The car was named Zafira Tourer C. The prototype car debuted in Geneva. Zafira has been restyled in 2016.
The Vauxhall right-hand drive vehicle was discontinued by General Motors in June 2018.

The power units that have received the greatest distribution
The most popular engines on the Zafira were the Z16XER and Z18XER. The 16-liter Z1.6XER power unit complies with Euro-4. Its modification A16XER is suitable for Euro-5 environmental standards. You can meet this motor on other General Motors cars.
The Z18XER power plant appeared in 2005. The internal combustion engine has a variable valve timing system on both shafts. The engine has a good resource, so repairs are rarely required before 250 thousand km. Model A18XER is programmatically strangled and complies with Euro-5.
The A14NET motor appeared in 2010. Its distinctive feature is the use of turbocharging with a small volume of the working chamber. The engine is demanding on the quality of the oil, as it is seriously loaded due to the high return per liter of volume. The norm during the operation of the internal combustion engine is a clicking sound. It is emitted by injectors.
Diesel engines are not very common on the Zafira. The most popular is Z19DTH. It is highly reliable, but still sensitive to fuel quality. Often, a diesel particulate filter is clogged on power plants, which is why many car owners put a snag.

The most reliable engines are Z16XER and Z18XER and their modifications. They have a fairly large resource, and finding spare parts for repairs is not difficult. Motors do not provide the highest dynamics, but their technical characteristics are enough for comfortable driving around the city and highway. Cars with these engines are recommended by most car owners.
When purchasing Zafira C, it is recommended to pay attention to A14NET. It provides good economy and smooth stable traction. The turbine has an optimal moment shelf. It comes into operation almost from idle.
