History of the engine

A weighty alternative to the UZ series engines in 2006 was the UR series of motors. V-shaped aluminum blocks with 8 cylinders opened a new stage in the development of Japanese engine building. A significant increase in power was given to 3UR motors not only by the cylinders, but also by equipping them with new systems for ensuring operability. The timing belt was replaced by a chain.

The stainless steel exhaust manifold allows you to safely install a turbocharger on the engine. By the way, a special division of the automaker performs tuning of many elements of cars (Lexus, Toyota), including their engines.
