In 2004, the production of a new high-class sedan from the Japanese automobile concern Toyota, Mark X, began. This car was the first of the Mark line to feature a six-cylinder V-twin engine. The appearance of the car fully complied with all modern standards and is able to attract a buyer of any age.

In the maximum configuration, the Mark X was equipped with adaptive xenon headlights, an electric driver's seat, heated front row seats, an ionizer, cruise control, a multimedia system with navigation, and 16-inch alloy wheels. The salon space is full of high-quality elements made of leather, metal and wood. There is also an exclusive sports version "S Package".

It boasts 18-inch alloy wheels and special brakes that include elements for improved ventilation, a specially tuned suspension, body parts that increase aerodynamic performance and other upgrades.

There are two engine options available on the 120 Mark X body: 2.5 and 3-liter power units from the GR series. In these internal combustion engines, there are 6 cylinders arranged in a V-shape. The motor with the smallest volume is capable of developing a power of 215 hp. and a torque of 260 Nm at a crankshaft speed of 3800 rpm. The power performance of a three-liter engine is slightly higher: power is 256 hp. and a torque of 314 Nm at 3600 rpm.

It is worth noting that it is necessary to use only high-quality fuel - 98 gasoline, as well as other technical fluids and consumables.

An automatic transmission operates as a transmission with both motors, in which there is a manual gear shifting mode if the car was driven only by the front wheels. All-wheel drive versions have a five-speed automatic transmission.

At the front of the car, two levers are used as suspension elements. At the rear, a multi-link suspension is installed. Compared to its predecessor, the 10th Mark has a modified layout of the engine compartment. This contributed to a reduction in the front overhang, as well as an increase in cabin space.

The wheelbase has also increased, thanks to which the behavior of the car has changed for the better - it has become more stable when cornering. Since the car is aimed at driving at high speeds, the designers paid great attention to safety systems: the design of the front belts contains pretensioners and force-limiting elements, active head restraints and airbags for the driver and passenger were installed.

The second generation

At the end of 2009, the second generation of the Mark X car was presented to the public. The designers of the Japanese company paid great attention to the dynamism, relevance and impeccability of all details, even the smallest ones. The refinement also touched on the handling and chassis design, which made the car heavier. This gives the impression of stability and reliability while driving. Another factor that increases the stability of the vehicle is the increase in the width of the body.

There are several trim levels in which the car was offered: 250G, 250G Four (all-wheel drive), sports versions of S - 350S and 250G S, and a modification of increased comfort - Premium. Elements of the interior space have acquired a sporty character: the front seats have lateral support, a four-spoke leather steering wheel, a multifunctional front dashboard with a huge color display, and bright instrument panel illumination - Optitron.

As in the pre-styling version, the new Mark X was equipped with two V-engines. The volume of the first engine remained the same - 2.5 liters. In connection with the tightening of environmental standards, the designer had to reduce the power, which now amounted to 203 hp. The volume of the second motor has increased to 3.5 liters. It is capable of developing a power of 318 hp. The power units installed in the charged modifications "+M Supercharger", which are produced by the tuning studio Modellista, had 42 hp. more than standard 3.5 liter internal combustion engines.

The Mark X Zio combines the performance of a sedan with the comfort and spaciousness of a minivan. The body of the X Zio is low and wide. In the passenger compartment of the car, 4 adult passengers can comfortably move around. Modifications "350G" and "240G" are equipped with two separate seats located in the second row. In cheaper trim levels, such as "240" and "240F", a solid sofa was installed. Dynamic stabilization is carried out by the S-VSC system. As security systems, side airbags, curtains, as well as seats with the WIL system, with protection against damage to the cervical vertebrae, are installed in the car.

In the rear-view mirrors, an enlarged viewing sector and turn signal repeaters were installed. Unlike the simple Mark X version, the Zio version can be made in a new body color - "Light Blue Mica Metallic". The standard equipment was equipped with a large number of options, among which are: air conditioning, multimedia system control buttons, electric mirrors, etc. The Aerial sports modification is also available to the buyer. The buyer was given a choice of two options for a motor installation with a volume of 2.4 and 3.5 liters.

During the creation of this car, the designers of the table face the task of achieving efficient fuel consumption. This problem was solved by optimizing the settings of the engine, transmission and installation of an electric generator on all-wheel drive models. Fuel consumption for the 2.4-liter engine in mixed mode was 8,2 liters per 100 km.
