Two-story house with 3D printing

In Belgium, one of the biggest 3D printed houses has been built with the largest XNUMXD printer in Europe. Compared to other buildings of this type in the world, it is distinguished by the fact that it has two floors. According to design company Kamp C, this is the largest house ever printed in "one piece" using a single stationary printer.

The device used by Kamp C, about 10 meters by 10 meters, works similarly to smaller 3D printers, with the difference that instead of plastic, it uses a special concrete mixture laid layer by layer. "The material's compressive strength is three times that of conventional building bricks," project manager Marijke Aerts told New Atlas. “Apart from the fibers in the concrete, the amount of reinforcing mesh used is small. Thanks to the printing technology used, the formwork has become unnecessary, which saves about sixty percent. materials, time and budget.

The building with a useful area of more than 90 square meters is still a demonstration option, showing its technical capabilities, and not a building intended for living, but according to the creators, it is fully habitable and even equipped with environmental attributes such as underfloor heating.
