As a result of a collaboration launched in September 2018 between the Japanese manufacturer and Taiwanese specialist Gogogo, the Yamaha EC-05 will be available to order from Monday, July 1st. A machine whose marketing is unfortunately limited to the Taiwanese market.

Unveiled a few weeks ago, Yamaha's new electric scooter is unveiled at a later date as the brand prepares to open orders for the Taiwanese market. 

Identical in design to the Gogoro 3, the Yamaha EC-05 marks the manufacturer's first steps in the 50cc electric scooter segment. From the technical point of view, the characteristics of the model have become much more accurate. Yamaha says it has a 10 horsepower (7,3 kW) electric motor and 26 Nm of torque. After deportation, he reports a top speed of up to 90 km / h and an acceleration from 0 to 50 km / h in 3,9 seconds. He promises to overcome slopes up to 30% at a speed of 40 km / h.

In terms of energy, a Yamaha electric scooter can hold up to two batteries. If the energy capacity is not specified, the manufacturer promises a power reserve of up to 110 kilometers with charging.

The removable two batteries can be easily replaced at battery exchange stations. Specifically, Yamaha EC-05 users will be able to use approximately 1200 GoStations of the Gogoro network.

For the time being, the Yamaha EC-05 will only be sold in the Taiwan market and will be sold through a network of about 2300 distributors nationwide. The cost of the car there is 99.800 2800 Taiwanese dollars (tdw), which is equivalent to 70.000 euros. In Taiwan, government subsidies will bring its price down to 2000 TWD, or just under € XNUMX.

Available to order from July 1st, the Japanese electric scooter will begin shipping on August 1st. The fifth electric scooter produced by Yamaha after Passol (2002), EC-02 (2005), EC-03 (2010) and e-Vino (2014), EC-05 will be produced in 20.000 copies within the whole year. ... The products are directly provided by Gogoro on behalf of the Japanese brand.
