This has a significant impact on fuel consumption,” explains Jan Bronevich, director of the Higher Technical Organization in Opole. – Another mistake is to drive in neutral at a red light. Today's cars are designed in such a way that during engine braking, fuel consumption is minimal, which allows you to save money, and in a quiet mode, the car burns much more.

Next saving they are associated with a quiet start from the lights.

- If you start with the squeal of tires, then the fuel consumption of passenger cars increases to 20 liters per 100 kilometers! our expert says. – The most common cause of strong combustion is the so-called. heavy leg. Driving too fast burns up to 20 percent more.

Let's also try to adjust the engine speed to the speed of movement. In other words, if you drive too slowly in high gear, you use more fuel. For this reason, gasoline vehicles should be kept at 2000 rpm, and for most turbodiesels, 1500 rpm.

You should also remember that you should not trim the engine, i.e. drive in low gear at high speed. In modern cars, fifth gear can already be engaged on the highway at a speed of 70 km / h. However, when we go uphill, do not forget to downshift to a low gear.
