Does the screen in Tesla 3 freeze or go blank? Wait for firmware 2019.12.1.1 • CARS

On Twitter and among our readers, we hear voices that the new Tesla Model 3 has screen problems. Errors may appear on it, the image freezes or disappears during movement. The solution is to update the software.

Our reader, Mrs. Agnieszka, who bought a brand new Tesla 3, from the very beginning he has a problem with the display, which can turn off or freeze during work (see: Tesla Model 3. Agnieszka's crazy car). It turns out that the error occurs for some users who have firmware version 2019.8.5 or 2019.12 (source).

The problem sometimes disappears after restarting the computer, which we can lead to by pressing and holding both rollers on the steering wheel.... If the reset does not help, you will have to wait for the new firmware version: 2019.12.1.1, which first appeared in February or early March 2019, but began to massively hit cars at the end of April 2019.

Unfortunately, the Tesla 3 owner has limited control over which version of the software he gets and when it gets delivered to him. The most effective solution is usually to contact your local Tesla office to push through the update. Fortunately the bug is rare and does not interfere with driving.

It should be added that since the release of the firmware 2019.12.1.1, versions 2019.12.11, 2019.8.6.2 and 2019.12.1.2 have also been released. We don't know if they will fix the Tesla Model 3 display issue.
